About
Welcome to Marganzo Restaurante, a true gem nestled in the heart of San Francisco de Campeche. Located at Calle 8 267, Zona Centro, our restaurant invites you to embark on a culinary journey that beautifully showcases the rich flavors and traditions of the Campeche region. With a warm ambiance and a spirited blend of local ingredients, Marganzo promises an unforgettable dining experience.
Our esteemed patrons have spoken highly of their experiences, from savoring the black smoked octopus to relishing the juicy coco shrimps. Guests like Alejandro Alvarez commend us for our Mayan culinary experience, pairing exquisite dishes like the jaiba and pulpo with the finest mezcal. Each bite is a testament to the culinary art form that defines our menu.
The highlight of Marganzo is not just our seafood, which has garnered praise for being cooked to perfection, but also our creative twists on classic dishes. Mark Goodwin describes the Filete Marganzo—a filet stuffed with shrimp and bacon—as an absolute delight, while the cream of chaya soup warms the soul. And, let’s not overlook our extensive selection of margaritas, perfectly chilled and crafted to perfection for a refreshing take on a favorite classic.
Mads Vinther echoes our commitment to quality with remarks on the cozy and tasteful décor, noting that while we may not boast Michelin stars, the price-to-quality ratio is undoubtedly impressive. Families will find joy in our vegetarian dishes and thoughtful non-alcoholic cocktails, ensuring everyone leaves satisfied.
At Marganzo, every meal is a celebration of local ingredients and regional culinary traditions. As Russ Steponic mentions, our fish of the day shines as a testament to our commitment to fresh, local seafood. Each dish is not just a plate served but a story waiting to be shared, crafted with love and innovation. Our friendly staff ensures that your dining journey is as enjoyable as the food itself, making each visit a memorable one.

“ Great food and atmosphere, enjoyed a mayan culinary experience with mezcal, jaiba, pulpo and an amazing twist on the classic cheesecake. ”
“ We did a late lunch which after we added the first margarita on rocks....don 70, the server was fantastic. Real local food. Came hot. Top notch ”
“ Restaurant specialties are seafood from Campeche region Delicious cooked to perfection. Black smoked octopus was excellent alongside all our dishes. Margherita’s were moorish and Mexican wine delicious ”
“ We've eaten at Marganzo a few times over the years and it's always been good. On this visit everything really fell into place and we had a fantastic meal. I had a really good margarita and some nice cream of chaya soup. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Tiken-Xik, which is a grilled marinated fish filet, and I had the Filete Marganzo, a filet stuffed with shrimp and bacon. Both were truly excellent entrees. We actually had a little room for dessert and shared a piece of cheesecake. The cheesecake was served with guava syrup and grated edam cheese, which might sound odd, but it was super good. Throughout our visit Karina provided us with excellent service. Overall, a wonderful restaurant experience for us. ”
“ A very very nice restaurant with very nice food. A very good ambience and service, but the reason we came back was the food and the overall feel of the place. Cosy, private (inside) with tastefull decor. It was not Michelin, but really nice tasteful and good food for a good price. Price/quality ratio was good. Good vegetarian dishes also and good non-alcoholic cocktails for the kids. ”
